Oil paint is a slow drying paint that allows painter to work with paint f or longer but the effects come when the painting is done are really realistic. First, the oil painting was used in 15th century but it did not gain much popularity. But, when Netherlands painting emerged out among art lovers, it replaced the use of tempera paints in the majority of Europe. Traditional oil painting techniques repeatedly begin with sketching on the canvas while using charcoal or thin paint. There are no solid evidences from where the medium was discovered, but people say that the technique was first used in Afghanistan.
